Now I know that some will say that I like this band because they’re French, so of course Eros Necropsique is great. Well, everything French *is* amazing, but Crises de lucidité’s merit stands on its own in spite of that. This album is scary and that what makes it stand out. By scary, we’re talking about "I don’t want to listen to this with the lights off" scary.
The music is dark and rhythmic while Olivier’s lyrics and almost monotone delivery match the music’s tone perfectly. Lyrics like "I deserve from your body a torrent of life and a torrent of death" off of the song "Le commencement d’une fin" and " I am not of these apparitions and have made myself slave to the voice that haunts me" off of "La voix" are just creepy, but work beautifully. This music is what you’d hear in a haunted house or a nightmare. Crises de lucidité is beautiful and haunting and worth a listen. (7.7/10)
